Summer Blues: George Michael Don’t Think Twice
Summer screams ripped blue jeans, sparkly tops and comfortable shoes. I definitely found that in these Old Navy distressed Perfect Straight Midrize Jeans in a light denim wash. I paired it with a navy blue top with rhinestone accents from Goodwill. To round out the ensemble, I added my cherry apple red Johnston & Murphy Lambskin slip-ons, my Wilson’s Leather MARC New York flowered crossbody and assorted jewelry including my FAV watch from Fossil. (OK truth all of my Fossil watches are my FAV. I love them all equally.)
My Fashion Style Obsession:
One of my joys in life is mixing thrifted items with boutique or trendy store bought items. I thrifted my beautiful yet elegant Forever 21 label top with rhinestone accents. While definitely a statement piece, but it is not the inspiration for this outfit. My inspiration piece are the ripped Old Navy jeans.
Making my grandmother cringe:
I recently invested in some pieces from Old Navy and a few other stores (more in blogs to come) to update my wardrobe. While many people are on the hunt for trendy Mom jeans, I’m not! I’ve been there and done that in the 80s and the 90s. In fact, I got the T-shirt, buttons, backpack, and poster to prove it! Why not wear something my grandmother would NEVER let me wear: Ripped jeans. I’m channeling my inner George Michael and I have a little faith that you are enjoying this look just as much as I AM...
Summer is the perfect time to experiment with your wardrobe. These Apple red slip-on loafers from Johnston & Murphy and distressed jeans do just that! The flats are lambskin and so sleek and comfortable that I almost forgot I’m wearing them. I paired them with a pair of Nicole Miller lace low-cut sock booties from Tuesday Morning. When experimenting remember to just DO IT! Have a little FAITH! Don’t THINK TWICE!!
